RETAIL INSTITUTIONS AND THEIR EFFECT TO URBAN COMMERCIAL SPATIAL STRUCTURE

Abstract  Retail institutions refer to the managing forms and patterns of commercial enterprises, which have developed and died out in response to conditions in the larger environment. The article shows that special institutional commercial enterprises have different marketing orientation and geographical orientation, and their zoning choice results in characteristic urban commercial spatial structure. Lastly, the authors point out that the urban commercial structure has changed with the development of retail institutions.
